Has anyone else had this experience? Of just feeling like.no.I can't do another 10-20 hours of resource gathering again just to have the same thing happen?

I have loved Sub Nautica, I have convinced multiple people to play it, my partner has just downloaded sub zero on early access. It won't be fun, it will be another bunch of hours doing the same things I've just completed multiple times, with a chance that I might get attacked and lose it all again. the idea of going back and not only rebuilding my cyclops, but also all of the other bits and pieces I need just feels pointless. It had everything I needed for a scanner room, a thermal plant, a fabricator, food, water, fish, first aid kits. That cyclops had 6 power cells working, and 12 spare. Being cautious, careful, and stocking up on everything I need. I am in lockdown with Covid so days = many many hours of game play. I have to get Kyanite and the Ion battery and then I'm done and can escape the planet after I get a cure. Hoping that I would be able to repair it from the outside once i was out of danger. I used my fire suppression and as the bridge flooded I launched another decoy and ran to abandon ship. I deployed two more decoys, went into silent mode, went full speed.then got a fire warning. When it all seemed good I headed for the deep section after the bulb bushes, and came under attack again. I hid out a few hundred meters away, repaired my cyclops and took my seamoth out for a look. I launched two decoys, reversed at full speed and went on silent mode. Then I took it for a spin, I was heading east out of the lost river and came under attack. I had it loaded with all the mods I could find, I practiced driving it in safe waters, I made sure the lockers had everything I needed to set up remote scanner bases. I spent approximately 10 hours of gameplay just setting my cyclops up. After I understood more, and had more game under my belt I rebuilt my Cyclops. I did try to rescue it twice but got killed both times then witnessed it by camera fall and be crushed by the pressure. But i decided that I better wait till I had more of a handle on what I needed to do before building a cyclops again. I've gone through 6 sea-moths, that's not a big deal. Then it got pulled apart and destroyed by two ghost leviathons', sinking to the bottom of the ocean with my sea-moth inside. Then I scrambled around and built a cyclops, assuming it was important given that I had the blueprint. I got used to dying, rebuilding sea-moths, jump scares.all while learning and exploring new spaces. I made mistakes, died many times, learned loads.ALL FUN.

I was recommended Sub Nautica, I ol, of course there will be a learning curve but it's fun. I just took up playing video games recently.
